Apple's repair process requires a couple of preconditions on every device. Sorting these first means we can start the diagnosis the moment it arrives.
macOS devices
Have your Apple ID password ready. We require Find My to be turned off before repair — if Find My is still on, we cannot service the device. If you've forgotten your Apple ID, visit iforgot.apple.com.
Back up your Mac if you can. Some repairs require a factory reset. Apple's backup guide →
Bring proof of purchase if available.
Have your macOS user name and password ready.
If a firmware password is set, turn it off before bringing the device in. Otherwise the repair may be blocked.
Bring any accessories you'd like us to check.
iPhone & iPad
Have your Apple ID password ready. We require Find My iPhone to be turned off — if it's still on, we cannot service the device. iforgot.apple.com can help if you've forgotten your credentials.
